HALTON Housing Trust has joined forces with Widnes Vikings to become the team’s sleeve sponsor for the 2010 season.

About 300 fans gathered at the Stobart Stadium Halton on Tuesday night to see the players in their new shirts, which has the Trust’s logo emblazoned on the sleeve.
“It makes sense for us to work with Widnes Vikings because we share similar values in wanting to make a difference to the local communities,” said Noel Sharpe, the Trust’s Director of Customer Services.
“We have a lot in common in terms of our aims and ambitions for the communities we serve.”
Five of the Trust’s board members attended the jersey’s unveiling and heard the announcement of the squad’s numbers for the new season.
The shirt also features the RFL’s ‘Try Assist’ logo, the new name for the RFL Benevolent Fund.
It was manufactured by Irish-based O’Neill’s Sportswear and has been designed with advances in moisture control that allow the body to breathe easily, with the garment feeling dry and cool to contribute to improved player performance.
The Trust and Widnes Vikings will work together through next year on community projects they hope will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in Halton.
“We are looking forward to working together and wish the Vikings every success in 2010,” said Noel.
