20/04/11 - Local job creation

CONTRACTORS working on behalf of a The Trust, carrying out a multi-million pound investment scheme in Runcorn and Widnes are searching for local people to employ on the projects.

As part of an agreement with Halton Housing Trust, contractors Apollo Property Services Group are looking for residents to work on the ‘Beyond The Garden Gate’ programme.

Vacancies include trades, site managers, assistant site managers, office administrator, stores and surveyor opportunities.

Apollo invited anyone with the skills or potential to do the jobs to attend the Halton Stadium on April 20 to find out more.

“Beyond The Garden Gate is about much more than the look of an area,” said Nick Atkin, Halton Housing Trust Chief Executive.

“The programme is designed to foster community involvement and give local people the power to influence how money is spent in their neighbourhood and ultimately give a local workforce the chance to transform the areas in which they live and work.

“Halton is full of high-quality, skilled people and we want them to work with us to make a real difference.”

The drop-in session attracted nearly 150 people where Apollo and Halton Housing Trust staff were on hand to discuss the opportunities further.

Local suppliers and contractors who are interested in working with Apollo were also encouraged to attend.
