Following a sustained campaign of verbal abuse, damage to property and an assault Halton Housing Trust took legal action to protect its customers from the fear and intimidation caused by Christopher Walsh the perpetrator of this anti-social behaviour.
On Tuesday 14 November 2006 Halton Housing Trust obtained a two year Injunction Order with a Power of Arrest for 18 months against Christopher Walsh aged 18 years of Stewards Avenue, Widnes.
This order will stop him from engaging in any threatening violence or any abusive, offensive, insulting, threatening or intimidating language against two families.
He is also excluded from entering Milton or Browning Avenue. If he breaks the injunction the police can arrest him and he could face up to two years imprisonment and or unlimited fines. For these purposes the Trust is also proactively distributing a summary of the terms of the injunction to local residents so the community can help the Trust to ensure he does not breach its terms.
Nick Atkin, Chief Executive of Halton Housing Trust, said: "Halton Housing Trust has continued to show that it will take firm action to protect its customers and the community from unacceptable behaviour. We are determined to continue to work with our customers, partners and use the courts to challenge anti-social behaviour so our customers are able to have peaceful enjoyment of their homes. We are not being heavy handed in taking this action. We are merely asking people to show each other some basic respect and behave in a reasonable manner.”
