HALTON Housing Trust has kick started its new website by giving customers a daily stream of information on all its front line services.
The revamped website, www.haltonhousing.org, is bright and informative and provides users with everything they need to know at the touch of a button.
The home page is also easy to navigate and lists the latest news from the Trust while providing links to paying your rent, reporting a repair, and finding a home.
Above all, the website sets out the Trust’s core values and even advises people how to tackle anti-social behaviour if it occurs in their area.
This is the first phase of a two phase re-launch. The Trust is keen to make the site as interactive as possible and to make it a useful resource for its customers. Following the second phase of development customers will be able to pay their rent and book repairs on-line.
Nick Atkin, the Chief Executive of Halton Housing Trust, said: “I would encourage anyone to go on-line and visit the website as it really does aim to meet everyone’s needs.
“It essentially provides everything from information on applying for a new home to how to go about making home improvements.
“As a Trust, we think everyone deserves the right to live in a clean and safe environment so we also use the website to urge people to log incidents of anti-social behaviour.
“There’s also a link to job opportunities for anyone wanting to make their mark on the housing sector.”
The Trust’s website uses Browsealoud. This reads web pages aloud for people who find it difficult to read online. Reading large amounts of text on screen can be difficult for those with literacy and visual impairments. The Trust is also about to invest in software which will enable the font size on the website to be changed to suit the individual needs of the reader.
