03/12/2008 - Halton Housing Trust appoints Sure for gas safety 
 
 

Halton Housing Trust has appointed Sure Maintenance to deliver its gas appliance maintenance and servicing contract to its 6,200 homes in the Cheshire towns of Runcorn and Widnes.

The contract was awarded to Liverpool-based Sure Maintenance (part of Sure Group) following a procurement process through the Northern Housing Consortium’s Gas Servicing and Maintenance Framework.

As their existing gas servicing provider, Sure Maintenance has been instrumental in assisting the Trust achieve outstanding results in the delivery of its gas servicing obligations. This year well in excess of 99.5% of Trust properties have a valid gas safety certificate.

Nick Atkin, Chief Executive of Halton Housing Trust, said: “We are delighted to be continuing to work with Sure Maintenance. Not only have we developed a strategic partnership approach to ensuring all of the Trust’s properties have a valid gas safety certificate, they have also proved they can provide a value for money service.

“This has been achieved both quickly and much cheaper through the fantastic framework agreement offered by the Northern Housing Consortium”

“Working in partnership with the Trust has enabled a strong relationship and mutual understanding to be established and as a consequence, the achievement of excellent results. We are now looking forward to supplying the gas maintenance service to the Trust and its residents in the future. “

The Northern Housing Consortium is currently working in partnership with six contractors to deliver a fully comprehensive framework for the service and maintenance of gas heating and other appliances in homes managed by social housing landlords.
