Halton Housing Trust has joined forces with Halton Borough Council to provide support to Trust customers during the economic downturn with a series of benefits surgeries.

The surgeries, being held at the Trust’s area offices at Simms Cross, Grange House and Ditton, will help customers maximise their income. The free and confidential financial health check will ensure they are receiving all the benefits to which they could be entitled and provide advice and support in submitting application forms.

The surgeries provide the following services:

• Checking to ensure customers are receiving the right benefits
• Help in completing any benefit application forms
• Offering budgeting advice
• Offering basic debt advice

Since the launch of its new welfare support service the Trust has seen an increasing number of its customers approaching them for advice.
