Survey says: Trust employees are happy in their work

EMPLOYEES are happier than ever to be working for Halton Housing Trust.

A survey has demonstrated an overall satisfaction rate amongst 240 employees was 78% with questions asked including employee’s understanding of their responsibilities, the Trust’s goals and its values.

A huge majority of employees believe the Trust – with offices in Runcorn and Widnes – is an equal opportunities employer that is fair to people of all races (99%), gender (97%), religion (98%) and sexual orientation (98%).

Employees were also asked whether they felt the Trust was committed to continuous improvement and 95% said ‘yes’.

A further 95% thought teamwork was strong and 91% felt they were trusted to carry out their role.

Jayne Adamson, the Trust’s Human Resources Manager, said: “Our priority is making sure our customers are well looked after and to achieve this we believe the secret is a happy workforce.”

Halton Housing Trust owns and manages 6,100 homes across Runcorn and Widnes. Each year employees are asked about how they feel in their work and this year saw a rise in the number of responses from 77% to 85%.

Since it was formed just over five years ago, the Trust has introduced more flexible working, improved its family-friendly ethos and invested in training opportunities.

Later this year it aims to secure a place on the Best Companies list.

Neil McGrath, Executive Director of Business Services, said: “We have made great strides in improving our work environment and this in turn benefits our customers. We will strive to continue to make improvements going forward for the benefit of everyone involved.”
