HALTON Housing Trust has been spreading the word on how it is tackling anti-social behaviour across the borough.

Members of the Trust’s Anti-Social Behaviour Team attended the ‘You Be The Judge’ event, at Halton Magistrates' Court, Halton Lea, on Saturday, October 17.

The day was designed to offer an insight into the Criminal Justice System, and featured two mock trials to allow people to see how the court system operates.

Halton Housing Trust’s Anti-Social Behaviour Officer Alison Little said the event showed customers how to report anti-social behaviour without fear of becoming a target for local trouble makers.

She said: “The event gave our customers the chance to see that there is plenty of support out there to help with the problems they may be experiencing.

“The biggest concern that our customers have is being identified for giving evidence against people taking part in anti-social behaviour.

“We were able to reassure people that there are ways to give evidence to the courts through the Trust, without having to be identified.”
