30/07/2009 - Swine flu advice for customers - REVISED

30/07/2009

In order to ensure that we are able – as far as practicably possible - to maintain an efficient and effective service to our customers in the coming months and to ensure the health and safety of all our employees and our customers, we would ask you to consider the following advice:

  • If you or a member of your household develops symptoms of swine flu and you need to request a repair from the Trust, we would ask you to inform the Trust by calling:

Freephone: 0800 1953172 / 0303 333 0101

  • We would also ask that if possible the infected person is isolated away from the Trust employee and the area of the house where the repair is required, at least half an hour prior to the visit, and remain in an area of the house away from where any work is scheduled to be carried out.  This will minimise the risk of the virus being passed to the Trust employee whilst at the same time enabling us to complete the repair.

  • If it is not possible to isolate the infected person then unless the repair is urgent we will discuss with you the possibility of deferring the repair until a time when the household is free from any infection.

  • If you are scheduled to have improvement work carried out in your home and any member of your household develops symptoms of swine flu, please contact the Trust and we shall review the situation and make alternative arrangements, if necessary, for the works to be carried out.

  • Other scheduled visits to customer’s homes by Trust employees may be rearranged if the infected person cannot be isolated away from the Trust employee.

We thank you for your cooperation and wish to assure you that we shall endeavour to maintain our normal services and minimise any disruption as far as practicably possible.
