08/05/2009 - Trust introduces low cost way for customers to get in touch

Halton Housing Trust is making it cheaper for customers to contact them.

New 0303 numbers have been introduced to report repairs and anti-social behaviour. The new numbers will work alongside the 0800 numbers that are currently used.

The Trust has introduced the new 0303 numbers because whilst 0800 numbers are free to call from a landline telephone they cost more when calling from a mobile phone. The government introduced 0303 numbers to be used exclusively by charities and not-for-profit organisations, so that the caller knows how much they are paying when calling.

Calls to an 0303 number cost the same as calling a local number and are also recognised as part of ‘inclusive minutes’ in mobile phone call plans.

Nick Atkin Chief Executive said: “The investment in these new numbers is a demonstration of the Trust’s wider commitment to financial inclusion and making it easy for our customers to stay in touch.   We would encourage all our customers to make a note of these numbers and start using them immediately.  We will also be running a series of promotional events over the next few months to further raise awareness amongst our customers and stakeholders”.

The new Trust numbers to note are as follows:

To report a repair

Call 0800 195 3172 – when calling from a landline telephone

Call 0303 333 0101 – when calling from a mobile phone

To report an incident of anti-social behaviour

Call 0800 074 3074 – when calling from a landline telephone

Call 0303 333 0100 – when calling from a mobile phone
