Gas Servicing

Halton Housing Trust has a legal duty to service gas appliances and installations in your home every 12 months. It is extremely important that you allow us in to your home to carry out this service for your health and safety. This work must be carried out by Corgi registered engineers. SURE Maintenance Ltd carry this out on our behalf.

Gas Leaks

Gas leaks are obviously extremely serious and need immediate attention by you.

If you smell gas:

  1. Turn off the gas supply immediately. The main gas on/off lever can be found next to your gas meter.
  2. Open windows and doors. This will allow any build up of gas to disperse.
  3. Avoid touching all light switches and plug sockets. An electrical spark from a switch could ignite escaped gas.
  4. Extinguish all naked flames and remove any sources of ignition. Don’t light matches and put out cigarettes.
  5. Ring National Grid (Transco) immediately on 0800 111 999.
