Halton Housing Trust supports the creation of independent tenants' and residents' groups. They are the building blocks of effective consultation.
We encourage all tenants' and residents' groups to sign up to a Partnership Agreement
This Agreement details both the associations’ and the Trust rights and responsibilities, commits associations to adopt good practice and outlines the practical and financial support provided by the Trust.
Associations that sign up the Partnership Agreement can access the following funding:

To help tenant and resident sssociations to pay for their basic running costs within the first year as they work towards achieving the annual grant criteria.

Democratically elected committee, written constitution and bank or building society account. |
Flat rate of £200 |
| Annual Grant |
To help tenant and resident associations to pay for their day-to-day running costs. |
Can show that the association meets their responsibilities as outlined in the Partnership Agreement.
Associations are only eligible to apply 12 months after receipt of the Starter Grant.
Based on the number of Trust tenancies.

| Development Grant |
To help tenant and resident associations to pay for any large or additional costs that they cannot afford to cover from the Annual Grant or from their own fund raising.
Examples include exploring innovative ways of seeking people’s views, buying equipment, provision of a fun day, etc. |
Can show that the Association meets their responsibilities as outlined in the Partnership Agreement.
No more than one grant per association in any financial year. |
