You can claim Housing Benefit if you pay rent for your home. An assessment of your income is carried out to determine the amount of Housing Benefit you may receive.

How do I claim?
The Benefits Service at Halton Borough Council deal with your claim for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit.
Halton Housing Trust are working partnership with Halton Borough Council to make the claims process easier and quicker for you.
To make a claim you need to fill in a Housing Benefit application form. You can collect these forms from your Housing Officer or the Council’s Halton Direct Links or download it here,
You should complete the application form and return it to a Housing Officer or a Halton Direct Link office.
