Most customer have a legal right to swap their home but you must first get our approval.

You may not be able to swap your home if:

  • The home you want to move to is much larger than you need.
  • The swap would cause overcrowding.
  • The landlord is taking legal action against one of the people wishing to swap.

If you have found someone you wish to exchange with both parties need to complete a Mutual Exchange application form that needs to be handed/posted in to your local housing office’

If you wish to register for an exchange you need to complete a Mutual Exchange Registration Card. This card will be displayed in the Mutual Exchange folder in your local Area Housing Offices. You can obtain a card by visiting or calling in to one of the local Area Housing Offices.
