Your rent is due each Monday, although it can be paid on another day. There are four rent free weeks every year where customers with clear rent accounts are not required to make a payment. This will not apply if you fall into rent arrears.

It is important to remember to pay your rent on time. If you repeatedly miss your rent we will take action against you which could ultimately lead to you being evicted.  If you get into difficulties in paying your rent, please talk to us straight away.

Rents are normally reviewed once a year and you will be informed by post four weeks in advance of any rent increases.

What your rent includes

Most customers only pay rent for their homes.  If you have additional services there may be other charges included in your rent. These charges are to cover services such as heating or warden services. These extra payments are listed separately on your rent card.

Your rent does not include Council Tax.  When you move into a new home you must contact Halton Borough Council’s Council Tax Section.

If you want any information about your rent account please contact your Area Housing Office and speak to an Income Recovery Officer.
