Right to repair

The Right to Repair was introduced by the government to ensure that customers have access to an alternative repairs service if landlords fail to make the repair on time.

The Right to Repair applies to urgent repairs - repairs which, if we don’t complete within the agreed time, may jeopardise your health, safety or security.

If we do not carry out the repair within the time, you can ask us to instruct a second contractor. The contractor must then complete your repair within a second set period of time.

If the second contractor fails to carry out the repair on time, we may pay compensation at the rate of £10 for the first day and £2 per day thereafter, up to a maximum of £50. This only applies to urgent repairs.

Compensation is only payable for delays, and not the speed or quality of the service you receive

If you would like further information please call 0800 195 3172 from a landline or 0303 333 0101 from a mobile.
