Universal Credit .... there's so much to get your head around

Universal Credit - an introduction

Universal Credit - an introduction

Universal Credit (UC)  started to be rolled out in Halton in 2015 and more claimants will be moved over in 2016. New claimants in Halton will be switched to UC, which means your rent will no longer be paid directly to us, your landlord.

Your benefits will instead be paid direct to you in one monthly payment. UC will replace the following benefits:

  • Housing Benefit
  • Job Seekers Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Employment Support Allowance

You will have to budget your rent, bills and spending every month.

If you need help with your Universal Credit application contact our Welfare Benefit and Money Advice team on 0151 510 5204 or email welfare@haltonhousing.org
