On Tuesday 31st October 2017, Halton Housing’s largest ever mixed tenure development, Tan House Lane in Widnes was completed. The scheme comprises of 175 homes, and Halton Housing have commissioned a play area to be built on site which is due to open in coming weeks. The development is located in the Tan House Lane area, formerly derelict land, which now, due to the many homes being built in the area is quickly transforming in to a thriving community.

The development comprises of a mixture of one, two, three and four bedroom apartments and homes. As the scheme has been completed in stages, the first stage being completed back in October 2016, many of the homes in this scheme are now already tenanted.

Nicky Harris, Halton Housing’s Development Manager said:

‘The completion of the second phase of properties on the Tan House estate is a major landmark for Halton Housing as this brings the number of Affordable properties in rental to 123 on this fantastic development, our largest new build scheme yet.  This has transformed the area completely, a process which is continuing with the handover of 10 highly desirable shared ownership houses on the estate in spring next year.’

Halton Housing worked in partnership with Russell Homes, the contractor used on this development to create a completely mixed tenure scheme. 42 of the homes within this development were sold for private sale by Russell Homes.
