The housing development comprises of 6 homes, and 22 one and two-bedroom apartments.
Inside Housing say the following about this award category:
‘The UK housing crisis means that the delivery of homes that are affordable to those on lower incomes is more important than ever. This award will recognise a completed development that creates a new community and desirable, high quality place to live that residents can afford.’
Nicky Harris, Halton Housing’s Development manager said:
“The completion and refurbishment of Victoria House, Runcorn’s former Cottage Hospital has been a major achievement for Halton Housing. It provides 20 unique apartments for affordable rent, which have maintained many of the building’s original Edwardian features. The addition of 8 architect designed new build homes at the rear of the site has complimented this scheme and ensures that it sits well within its surroundings, adjacent to Higher Runcorn’s Conservation Area.”
