As we enter the last stretch of Summer, the winners of Halton Housing’s annual ‘Digital Garden Competition’ have been announced.
Now in its fourth year, the competition has seen green fingered customers throughout Runcorn and Widnes competing for the title of ‘Digital Garden Competition Winner 2018’.
The competition invited customers to take a photograph of their gardens and submit it via email, Facebook or any other digital means.
The competition aims to recognise and reward those customers who go the extra mile, creating gardens that improve the look of their local area.
It has been a popular annual event with customer’s year in year out, with many entrants coming back with wonderful new displays every year.
Passion and gardening knowledge were apparent amongst all of this year’s entrants, with gardens demonstrating a good selection of plants and colour combinations, evidence of recycling, and a tidy appearance all round.
Members of Halton Housing’s Customer Forum shortlisted the entries, with two members visiting the shortlisted gardens to decide the overall winner and runner-up.

Debbie Jameson, customer engagement officer said: “Our customer garden competition gives recognition to those who lead by example and inspire others in the community to look after their gardens. Once again, I’m very pleased to see so many people enter the garden competition; though judging seems to get harder every year.
All of the gardens entered into the competition were a credit to the people looking after them. However, there can only be one overall winner, so many congratulations to Mr and Mrs Mason.”
The prize for the winner included a £50 Love2Shop Voucher and £25 Love2Shop Voucher for the runner-up, as well as a framed certificate each.

Customers can log a non-emergency enquiry and make rent payments via the Web Portal or Halton Housing App which will be processed within 3-5 working days from Wednesday 2nd January 2019.
