Halton Housing were delighted to provide funding support to this summer’s Victoria Park Experience (VPX).
Theannual event took place on Thursday 15th August at Victoria Park in Widnes providing free entertainment to over 10000 young people from across Widnes and surrounding areas.
VPXwas part-funded by Halton Housing’s Helping Hands Fund,following a successful application from Cheshire Police with £1800 being awarded to help support the event.
Halton Housing’s Helping Hands initiative makes available funding, skills, materials and resources to community projects and groups which benefit the Borough.
Debbie Jameson, Halton Housing customer engagement officer said: “The event provided a great day for many of our customers and gave them the opportunity to try something new. It was lovely to see so many people, of all ages, enjoying themselves on the day. We look forward to working alongside the local PCSO’s on future projects.”

PSCO Rachel Owenis one of the event’s organisers, she said: “Engaging with young people is a vital part of the work that PCSOs and local officers undertake, and by encouraging young people to participate in activities such as VPX we can make a real difference to local communities.
It was great to see so many attendees at this year’s event, this is our 4th year and our most successful to date which is amazing. Bringing communities together is very important to us and helps us to break down some of those barriers. We would like to thank Helping Hand Funds & Halton Housing for their support with the event, it truly is a big help to us”
