We are celebrating the 13th annual National Apprenticeship Week, taking place from 3rd to 9th February.
Co-ordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service, the ‘Look Beyond’ themed week will celebrate the diversity and value that apprenticeships bring to employers, apprentices and communities across England today.
During the week we will be sharing stories, experiences and insights of our current and former apprentices highlighting the range of roles available and the talent and energy apprentices bring to Halton Housing.
We will be sharing stories such as former Carillion apprentice, Daniel who was recruited by us following the collapse of the construction giant in January 2018. Daniel was taken on by Halton Housing working under the wing of one of our senior joiners. He has since successfully completed his apprenticeship and is now a full-time joiner with us.
We’ll also be sharing the stories of our housing apprentices, Darcy and Callum who both gained interest in housing following week-long placements at Halton Housing.
We are also hosting an ‘Apprenticeship Open Day’ offering the opportunity for our colleagues to meet and speak to apprenticeship and training providers Dutton Fisher, QA, The Learning Foundry and Riverside College to discover opportunities available to them upskill and train in a range of areas.
Kathryn Davies, Learning and Development Officer at Halton Housing said: “We are extremely proud of our apprentices at Halton Housing and the valuable work and contribution they make. As well as using the week to celebrate our current apprentices, we’re also using it as an opportunity to raise awareness amongst our colleagues that apprenticeships are not just for young people through raising awareness of opportunities available to them to upskill and develop themselves in a range of areas whilst still working full time.”
Last year several Halton Housing colleagues completed CIH qualifications funded through the Apprenticeship Levy.
