We have launched a new Neighbourhoods Team to provide customers with a ‘one stop’ for all things including tenancy management, anti-social behaviour and support.
Launched in response to customer feedback, the team officially went live from 12th October and will offer a visible presence to customers across our neighbourhoods, helping build stronger relationships with customers and partners in the community and find a better balance of proactive and reactive work.
The team consists of 8 Neighbourhood Officers and 4 Neighbourhood Safety Officers delivering services to individual patches across the borough.
In addition, the team is supported by 3 Tenancy Support Officers, supporting customers to live independently and maintain their tenancies and 2 Neighbourhood Coordinators.
The new Neighbourhood Officers will offer a broad range of services going above the role of conventional housing officer by providing one point of contact for customers on things like tenancy management and sustainability, signposting and referring to support services, supporting estate walkabouts and much more.
Meanwhile, the new Neighbourhood Safety Officers will work with customers to ensure they feel supported to take positive action to address anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the borough improve the overall quality of life for all residents. This will be achieved through ongoing partnership working with Cheshire Police and Halton Borough Council.
Pauline Jones, Director of Customers at Halton Housing said: “As the largest provider of housing in Halton we have the ability to build cohesive, vibrant communities. The new Neighbourhoods Team has been launched in response to customer feedback. We recognise that investing in neighbourhoods is about much more than the environment and to make lasting improvements we need to support local residents to improve their lives.”
Neighbourhood Officers will also be present on Halton Housing’s popular estate walkabouts.
The launch of the team will also allow us to spend more time supporting and safeguarding our most vulnerable customers and their families, further improving people’s lives.
