As well as ensuring that our homes are safe and secure, we play an active part in our local community. As the largest landlord in borough, we recognise our responsibility. We work with local contractors, charities and social enterprises to ensure that our neighbourhoods are places to be proud of.
We measure the value of our social impact through HACT, and produce a social impact statement annually.
We strive to continually improve services and local facilities and are always looking for local organisations and groups to support or work in partnership with.
Established in 2011, Power in Partnership (PIP) is a Halton based social enterprise, which works with disadvantaged
young people in Halton, by providing them with the skills and training to increase their life and work chances.
We have been working with PIP since September 2012 by providing young people aged 16 to 25 with paid and voluntary opportunities across different departments throughout the Trust. This has covered areas such as void properties and gardens, large landscaping jobs, plastering, painting, decorating and house clearances.
The idea behind the partnership is to provide work experience to low skilled young people who are disadvantaged or disengaged in the community and to inspire and create aspirations where previously there were none.
Halton Housing also provide premises in Widnes which PIP provide first steps to engineering English maths and employability.
All Or Nothing work with children aged 7+ through to adults from all walks of life to support them with their overall wellbeing and working towards healthier minds and bodies.
The group have a much needed permanent base in a Halton Housing premises at Halton Lodge shopping parade in Runcorn, to provide services and opportunities for people in a safe and comfortable environment.
Sessions and services are based on the principles of boxing including discipline, physical and mental flexibility.
The group is providing young people a central place to engage through sport, teaching them discipline, confidence and a healthier lifestyle.
The base will help the group with their ambitions to support and improve the lives of even more people in the local area.
