Our Latest Developments

Over recent years we have delivered an extensive portfolio of new build properties as part of our expanding development programme. On this page you will find information about all of our new build homes, and our future development plans. Open Door (company number: 082777320) is a trading name of Halton Housing and Open Solutions (OSUK) Ltd. Open Door provide products such as private rent, outright sale, Shared Ownership and Rent to Buy homes across the North West.

Mixed tenure of affordable housing, private sale, Rent to Buy and Shared Ownership.

Halton Housing have successfully acquired a plot of land on Picow Farm Road, Runcorn to allow them to create a £9.8 million housing development. The development will comprise of 67 brand new-homes, which will be a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes and bungalows. On this plot of land Halton Housing plan to create 30 homes for affordable rent, and their commercial subsidiary, Open Door will create 13 homes for outright sale, 14 on a shared ownership basis and 10 rent to buy homes.

Works are due to start on site for this development imminently and are scheduled to be completed in Summer 2020.

Old Forge Frodsham
PRICES START FROM £57,250, ASSUMING AN INITIAL 50% SHARE

The stylish apartments at The Old Forge are conveniently located on Ship Street, just off the high street in Frodsham.

Located just beyond the Police and Fire Stations, the attractive, modern, hi-spec and energy efficient homes provide comfortable and bright, open plan living spaces. This development comprises of one and two bedroom apartments which are fitted with top quality integrated appliances including a gas hob, a luxury bathroom and spacious living areas.

Affordable Rent

Works started on site at Montgomery Road in early February. The development comprises of eight new properties, six two-bedroom houses and two three bedroom houses, and will all be available for affordable rent.

Following the recent successful build of Grange House, Halton Housing will again be building the homes using innovative construction techniques, materials and methods.  This includes: sustainable, low carbon, closed timber frame panel homes using “off site” construction techniques, alternative approaches to the foundations and the use of maintenance free roof coverings and rainwater fittings.

The new build development is due to be completed in summer 2018.

Mixed tenure development, affordable homes, private rent and sale

The Warrington Road development will provide the Tan House Lane area with 31 homes for affordable rent, and 18 homes which will be managed by Halton Housing’s commercial subsidiary. The remaining 69 homes will be sold by Russell Homes, the building contractor employed on this development.

Work on the development is expected to begin in March, with the initial demolition and remediation of the site being followed by a 3.5-year construction programme. The first homes are expected to be completed on this development in early 2019.

Waterfront View
Shared Ownership homes, prices start at £72,500 assuming an initial 50% share.

Waterfront View, located in the heart of Widnes,  is a development of ten 3 bedroom semi-detached homes.

These attractive and spacious homes, provide comfortable living spaces, three well-proportioned bedrooms, a generous garden, and designated parking spaces. Each home offers an open plan kitchen-diner, with a fully fitted kitchen. The luxury bathroom, en-suite to the master bedroom and downstairs W/C are fully tiled and have heated handrails.

The homes at Waterfront View are due for completion in April 2018.

Halton Housing Tan House Lane development
Affordable rent homes, prices start at £94 per week

The Tan House Lane development was completed in stages up until late 2017. The first 16 homes were completed in October 2016.

Partnering with Russell Homes, Tan House Lane is Halton Housing’s most ambitious development to date, aiming to transform derelict land into a thriving community. A mixture of one, two, three and four bedroom apartments and houses are on offer, designed to appeal to a wide range of customers.

Victoria House, former Runcorn Cottage Hospital
Affordable rent homes, prices start at £111.99 per week

Work started in December 2016 on the transformation of Victoria House, the former cottage hospital in Runcorn.

The £2.9 million project, which was grant funded by the HCA (Homes and Communities Agency), will see the creation of 28 new homes on the site on Holloway, and will involve the selective demolition and conversion of the existing building with complimentary new build.

Working with John McCall Architects, Bardsley Construction, Aecom and the Alan Johnson Partnership. This scheme was  completed April 2018.

Halton Housing, Latham Avenue
Affordable rent homes, prices start at £99.67 per week

Built on a former junior school site in Runcorn, the Latham Avenue development comprises of a mixed tenure of 95 homes; 83 homes for affordable rent and 12 homes for private sale by Seddon Homes, the scheme builder’s sister company.

Latham Avenue was completed on the 12th November 2017 to a high specification and has been extremely popular with local residents.

Halton Housing, Pine Road.
Affordable rent homes, prices start at £99.67 per week

Located in the Grangeway area, Runcorn the Pine Road development comprises of a mixture of one and two bedroom apartments, two and three bedroom houses and three bungalows, all for affordable rent.

Pine Road was completed on the 15th November, 2017 and is a £3.8 million development creating modern affordable housing stock in Runcorn. In total, there are 42 homes which make up this development.

Dave helped me get online and taught me how to use my new device, and the Customer App. I’ve used the Customer App to report a couple of repairs such as when my boiler went, when some tiles came off my roof and various other things.

My son also helps me use the tablet and Rose who comes in to visit me twice a week. I really like being able to use Facebook now, I get to see what all my grandchildren are up to and my family members who live up in Anglesey. I can now do my word search online on my device too!

Moving house has been a life saver for us really. My daughter needed surgery right before we moved, and if we hadn’t of moved when we did my daughter who is poorly would not have been able to come home from hospital
