You may fancy looking for work to earn more money.
If you start earning money this will affect your benefits, so it’s something you need to think carefully about, but if you’d like the challenge and excitement of a job, then you need to consider what sort of job you would like to do. You may have an idea in mind, or you might not be sure at all. There are some great questionnaires available online, that match your skills with a potential vocation, like the Prospects Career Planner for graduates, or this career test.
Once you know what you would like to do, it’s time to get searching. You can either do this by checking local listings, or visiting a Job Centre. The nearest Job Centre is in Runcorn and Widnes.
You could also contact Halton People Into Jobs. This is a Council service offering National Careers Service Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) on a range of employment, learning, skills and business start-up support services available direct from HPIJ and local providers.
If you are still worried about work and your benefits, Citizens Advice answer a lot of questions here too.
You’ll also find some things to add to your list in the To Do bar, to get the ball rolling. Good luck!
