The Tenancy Support Team

Did you know that here at Halton Housing we have a dedicated team of 5 individuals whose job roles are to care for some of our most vulnerable customers and offer them support? Our Tenancy Support Team is made up of five incredibly dedicated people, who have in recent years established close working relationships with local specialist services such as: Halton borough council, Halton Social Services and Cheshire police just to name a few whilst working closely with our customers.

The Tenancy Support Team work with our most vulnerable customers, and offer them support on a variety of levels, dependent on the need, from hands on support for up to 12 months right down to a ‘helping hand’ where support is provided for up to 6 weeks.

The Tenancy Support Team help customers tackle issues such as:

  • The team help hoarders and those who find it difficult to manage their homes to declutter. The team has helped to part-fund professional cleans, ensuring care is put in place moving forward.
  • Providing customers who are in crisis with hands on support; this includes those experiencing domestic abuse, drug and alcohol addictions, and those who are struggling to manage their finances and tenancies effectively.
  • Assisting customers to resettle when they leave hospital, helping people to downsize if they are under-occupying, and supporting moves to specialist accommodation.
  • Working closely with social services in child protection cases.  They work with parents to ensure they are complying with child protection plans and provide statements to support any further court action.
  • Supporting those leaving care and hostels, and first-time tenancy holders by ensuring they can manage their tenancy. The team often apply for funding for essential items such as white goods on behalf of these customers.

If you’re a Halton Housing customer and any of the above circumstances apply to you, get in touch with the team. The team will help and support you, whilst providing you with judgement free advice and guidance.
